Access Key Information

What are Access Keys?

Access Keys are used on websites to assist people who are not using a mouse to navigate the site. Instead they use what are commonly referred to as "short-cut" or access keys. Below is a list of the access keys established for this site only.

We found a helpful tool called Access Key Companion. This tool will function like a 'bookmark' in your browser's bookmark list or favorites list depending on the browser.

How do I use the Access Keys?

On windows operating systems users can use access keys by typing ALT + 'Access Key' if you are using Internet Explorer. To reverse the tab order in Internet Explorer, use the Shift+Alt+'Access Key'. MAC computer users would type CTRL + 'Access Key'. If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0 you may have to use the "enter" key to access the link.

The information provided above for Internet Explorer also applies to Firefox in their latest version 2.0.0.3. Please visit http://www.firefox.com for more information.

Following is some helpful information for Opera Browser users found on Opera's website at http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/nomouse.

Opera is very efficient with Tabbed browsing. There are keyboard shortcuts for just about everything you need to do to manage multiple open tabs.

Load the document under the active link into a new tab using Shift+Enter. If you would prefer that document to pop up in the backgroun, so that it does not cover the window you are currently using, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. You can always close the new page with Ctrl+W.
