Indoor Air Quality - Environmental Tobacco Smoke
Missoula was the first community in Montana to enact a prohibition against smoking in indoor places of employment and public places. The Ordinance passed in 1999.
In 2005, the Montana State Legislature passed the Montana Indoor Clean Air Act. This Act prohibits smoking in all work places and public buildings in the entire State. The ban went into effect in October 2005, but some bars and casino's have until September 2009 to become smoke free.
