The State approved the use of a 24 hour rapid detection method for the analysis of drinking water for total coliforms in 2000.
Missoula City-County Health Department Water Lab offers the 24 hour method. This test will detect total coliform and fecal coliform.
Water samples will be accepted until 4:00 PM on Monday through Thursday each week. Water samples cannot be accepted after 4:00 PM on Thursday.
The cost for total coliform analysis is $15.00. The department can send you water sample bottles for only $2.00 extra per bottle for shipping/handling.
