Environmental Health: Well Permits
"A person may not construct a well within Missoula County without first obtaining a permit from the Department." ~Regulation 5, MCCHD Health Code
The Missoula City-County Board of Health adopted Regulation 5 on October 15, 2009. It went into effect on January 1, 2010.
The purpose of this regulation is to protect the Missoula Valley Aquifer and make sure wells are properly located away from sources of contamination by creating a well permitting program through Missoula City-County Health Department.
