Water Lab Information
We are happy to serve as a water well contact for both Public Water Supply Operators and for private well owners. We have information available to help you safeguard your well and prevent potential problems.

The Environmental Health Water Lab is located at 301 W. Alder, Missoula City-County Health Department Building, second floor.
The Lab Manager is Ken Anderson, R.S., 406-258-3111.
To order bottles and mailers for your county, contact the Environmental Health Office at 406-258-4755. We can only provide sample bottles to locations within the 598__ zip code range. The US Postal Service cannot guarantee next day delivery outside that zip code range.
Water samples must be received by the lab for analysis within 36 hours of being drawn. Samples older than 40 hours cannot be considered valid samples. For public water supplies, the state will not accept water sample results from samples more than 40 hours old.
