Environmental Health: Solid Waste Program
Introduction
![]() |
One inevitable product of any human society is waste. To preserve health, it is essential that we manage our waste, both solid and liquid forms. SOLID WASTE, also referred to as garbage, rubbish, debris and refuse, is regulated in The City of Missoula, as well as Missoula County. The Board of Health passed a Solid Waste Regulation in 1994. |
The City Municipal Code has a section dealing with Garbage and Rubbish. In 1990 the Missoula County Commissioners passed an ordinance to deal with community decay. And the state of Montana has laws governing junk vehicles.
