Understanding Property Tax Bills
For detailed information on how your property is assessed for taxes visit the State of Montana's
Department of Revenue's page for
individual property taxes. They provide a link to a brochure entitled
Understanding Property Taxes.
WARNING: Some of the Property Information Map features fail in the new version of Internet Explorer. We are currently seeking a solution. Please be advised that if you have installed the new IE version 7 certain features,
such as the PAN button will not work properly. A notice will be posted here just as soon as a solution has been
implemented.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST TURN OFF POP-UP BLOCKERS BEFORE USING THE LEGACY MAP SERVICE IN ORDER
FOR RESULT SCREENS TO SHOW YOU INFORMATION ON PARCELS SELECTED!!!!!!
Accessing these layers is as simple as clicking on the "Map Layers" buttton in the right hand pane
of the Map View and then checking the boxes in front of the layers you wish to display. Please
note that some layers only display at certain scales.
ZOOM FEATURE INSTRUCTIONS: Many have called regarding the zoom feature
on the older map system saying that when they click on the map they get a dark gray or white screen. This happens because older map system requires
that users left-click and drag a box (square or rectangle) using the mouse to make a selection of the map to zoom.
The smaller the box you draw the further in it will zoom but if you make a large box you will not zoom in as much.
