Since 2003, the Missoula County Park Board has recognized exceptional people or organizations that work on behalf of Missoula County Parks by presenting them with the Park Steward Award. Awardees are given a certificate and their names are added to a plaque on display at the Missoula Public Library.

 

The 2010 award recipient was the Seeley Lake Lions Club. Over the past 16 years, the Lions have worked to manage, maintain and improve the community park in Seeley Lake. The Lions Club developed a winter skating program at the park that includes an annual skating party during Seeley Lake’s Winter Fest. The Club also enhanced the park with a paved walking path, updated picnic facilities, vegetation management and general maintenance.
