Missoula County - Animal Control

Department: Animal Control
Missoula County Home

Animal Control would like to remind Missoula citizens that pets cannot be leashed to a tree, bike rack, street sign, or other item that is on public property.   We commonly see this practice along the sidewalks in the downtown area.  Again, animals can be unpredictable, to include being scared in your absence, and may react differently around a stranger who tries to pet them or simply walks too close to them.  The last thing you want is your pet being taken by a stranger.  Many businesses in our downtown area allow leashed pets into their business while you shop.

July 31- Bark in the Park at Osprey Stadium-  We will have cats and dogs for adoption at the game. Come visit our booth and meet some great animals.

August 5- National Night Out- Target parking lot 4-7pm- We will be participating in the event to promote Crime Prevention with other law enforcement agencies and Target.  We will have animals for adoption and information about animal bite safety.

August 12- Fundraiser at IHOP- Come join our staff and eat at IHOP between 5-8pm.  20% of the proceeds will go to the Animal Control shelter to help save lives of animals in Missoula County and better the lives of the animals at the shelter.

August 16th- Pet Fest-  Come to the Adams Center at the U of M and visit us at our booth.  We will have cats and dogs for adoption along with shelters from across the state.  This is a fun activity for the whole family.  There will be weiner dog races and other fun events and great food.

By adopting from Missoula Animal Control, you truly are Saving A Life.

The shelter is FULL!!!!  If you have been considering adoption, please come down and see if you fall in love with any of our pets.
