A  Voter’s Guide to Late Registration:

The deadline to register as a voter in Montana is 30 days prior to Election Day. However, late registration allows a voter to register or change their voter registration information after the close of regular registration and vote in the election beginning 29 days prior to the election. Late registration is open from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. On the Monday before the Election, late registration closes at noon and reopens on Election Day from 7 a.m. until close of polls at 8 p.m. Late registrants can only receive absentee ballots at the Fairgrounds.

Should I visit the Elections Center on Election Day to vote?

If you have an ACTIVE status and your information reflects what is listed under the MY VOTER PAGE, you must vote at your designated polling place. On Election Day, the Elections Center is reserved for new voters or those whose information has changed – such as an address change. The issuing of Absentee Ballots closes at noon Monday, November 5th and does not re-open on Election Day.

Find your polling place and check your voter information by visiting the Montana Secretary of State's
