Montana Codes require trailer courts and campgrounds to license: CHAPTER 52. TOURIST CAMPGROUNDS AND TRAILER COURTS. In addition, by definition, new trailer courts and campgrounds are subdivisions of land and must be reviewed and approved by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ): CHAPTER 4. STATE REGULATION OF SUBDIVISIONS. If you are thinking about establishing a new trailer court or campground, it is wise to talk with a professional land use consultant.
For existing trailer courts and campgrounds, a license renewal fee is charged annually and expires on December 31st of the license year. A new license is required at change of ownership.
