Help for Property Information System

The Property Information System is provided for information purposes only. Please read our disclaimer. To locate information on your own parcel or mobile home, please have your TaxID (tax identification number) ready. You can find this number on your most recent tax bill. If you are unable to locate your tax identification number you can call the Treasurer's office and ask the clerk to look it up for you.

How to Use the Property Information System

As of late in 2009, Missoula County has released a new, Flash-based Property Information System, which requires at least version 10 of Adobe's Flash Player.  Outdated software led to portions of the older map failing in the latest versions of all the web browsers making it difficult for users to get the information they needed in a timely fashion. The new system has a map portion that is similar to Google's map. It functions much the same way with added search features that interface the same Missoula County property information as the older system. For help and more information on how to use the new system, refer to the related "help" pages.

The original Property Information System has also been updated to take on the current theme of the remainder of the Missoula County website.  This update has helped to improve web standards and ADA compliancy for that section of the site.

The first thing is to go to the web address, which is http://www.co.missoula.mt.us/owner. Once you arrive at the home page for this system, use one of several search options such as TaxID (as mentioned earlier), parcel address, map, or GEO Code. A GEO (geographical) code is used to uniquely identify a parcel. It is different than your TaxID. For best results and a speedier search have your TaxID available.

There are links to the new system on the Property Information home page.

Doing a Map Search is a little more difficult than the other search methods and may require that you become familiar with the Map portion before attempting to use this as a search tool.
