Following is a list of all boards and commissions.  If you have any questions or you need more information, please call our office at 258-4877.   For more detailed information on each board and/or commission listed below, click on the name in the left column.

9-1-1 Advisory Board Advises the County Commissioners in regard to emergency dispatch services in Missoula County; coordinates the dispatch needs and requirements of all public safety agencies utilizing the 911 communications center. 10:30 am - 1st Thursday of even numbered months @ Missoula County Annex Basement Conference Room
[Missoula] Aging Services Governing Board Develops and implements a plan for the Missoula Planning and Service Area for delivering social and health services to the elderly; seeks funding sources and manages funds received; re-evaluates and redefines objectives and priorities of the organization. 12:30 pm - 4th Monday of the month @ 337 Stephens
Airport Authority Oversees the management the Missoula International Airport. 1:30 pm - Last Tuesday of the month @ Missoula International Airport
Animal Control Board Establishes/reviews animal control policies; approves/denies requests for multiple dog permits; and performs other duties as described in the Interlocal agreement between the City and the County on cooperative animal control. 5:45 pm - 1st Wednesday in Feb., May, Aug, & Nov. @ Animal Control Shelter, 6700 Butler Creek Road
Big Sky Park Stewardship Committee Ensures that improvements to and management of the Big Sky Park meet the intent of the Tower Street Park Complex Plan; assigns duties among lease-holders and neighborhood residents; and promotes public awareness of the activities at the park. Every two months in winter/spring, more frequently in summer/fall @ Target Range Library or Westside Little League Clubhouse
Bonner-Milltown Community Council Acts as a liaison between the citizens of Bonner/Milltown and the BCC and provides info deemed useful, beneficial and helpful to the BCC in making decisions which affect the Bonner/Milltown community. 7:00 pm - 2nd Monday of the month @ Bonner School Library
County Compensation Committee Came into existence in 2001 based on HB 345 (establishes a county compensation board in each county). Determines compensation for elected officials - based on county population and consumer price index. Varies - as needed
East Missoula Community Council Acts as a liaison between the citizens of East Missoula and the BCC and provides info deemed useful, beneficial and helpful to the BCC in making decisions which affect the East Missoula community. 7:00 -9:00 pm -
3rd Monday of the month @ East Missoula Community Hall, 326 Montana Ave.
Evaro-Finley-O'Keefe Community Council Shall strive to promote the interests and concerns of its residents and citizens in the Evaro-Finley-O'Keefe Creek area including (Precincts 39, 40, 41, 42 and 43).*  Acts as a liaison to the County Commissioners and brings information from citizens and residents of the area to the attention of the Commissioners.  It may also provide additional information deemed useful, beneficial and helpful in making decisions which affect the community.  Because the vast majority of this area intersects with the Flathead Indian Reservation, the Council may also interact with the Tribal Council, staff, and other members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation.  *NOTE - Precincts have combined to represent HD14/Area 1 and HD99/Area 2. 7:00 pm -
3rd Wednesday of the month @ Evaro Community Center
Fairgrounds (Missoula County) Advisory Committee Represents the citizens of Missoula County in preserving, enhancing and developing the Fairgrounds for present and future generations.  Will serve in an advisory capacity for the purpose of comprehensive planning, capital acquisition, facility development, and event production as directed by the County Commissioners and under the supervision of the Missoula County Fairgrounds Director. 11:30 am -

Florence-Carlton Cemetery Board Governs and manages the Florence-Carlton Cemetery District. As needed - at the cemetery or TBA
Health Board [City-County] Serves as policy making body for determining goals, objectives, and programs for the delivery of public health services to City/County Missoula Residents. Selects Health Officer who carries out statutory duties and directs City/County Health Department.  The members also serve as the Air Pollution Control Board and the Water Quality District Board.

Historical Museum Board Determines all program and policy decisions affecting the delivery of museum services Noon - 3rd Monday of the month @ Jaker's Restaurant
Impact Fee Advisory Committee Created in 2008 in accordance with Section 7-6-1604, MCA.  Advises the County Commissioners and represents the citizens of Missoula County in reviewing and monitoring the process of calculating, assessing and spending impact fees. Ad hoc and noticed in the Commissioners' schedule
Larchmont Golf Course Board Oversees the operation of the Missoula County Larchmont Golf Course. 3:30 pm -

Library Board Develops policy and oversees the fiscal operations of the library; supervises the Library Director; and prepares the annual budget for approval by the governing bodies. 6:30 pm -
3rd Wednesday of the month @ Missoula Public Library, 301 E Main
Local Emergency Planning Committee Carry out those duties required pursuant to Public Law 99-499, SARA of 1986, Title III and related regulations; implement other such activities as may hereafter be legally required by the federal government, the SERC, the BCC, or the City Council. 1:30 pm -

Lolo Community Council Acts as a liaison between the citizens of Lolo and the BCC and provides info deemed useful, beneficial and helpful to the BCC in making decisions which affect the Lolo community. 7:00 pm -
2nd Tuesday of the Month @ Lolo Community Center
Lolo Mosquito Control Board Manages and controls mosquitoes while providing for the protection of humans, livestock, pets, songbirds, game birds, game animals, and the environment in general. Varies - as needed
Lolo Sewer and Water Board (RSID 901) [CURRENTLY INACTIVE] - Provided for the planning and management of the system; provided a local focal point for citizen interest, participation, and protection; and promoted the orderly development of the district. n/a
Marijuana Initiative Oversight Committee Self-governing committee per Initiative 2006-02: Alter Law Enforcement Priorities and Make Adult Marijuana Offenses the Lowest Law Enforcement Priority in Missoula County. [Meeting times/location varies; often held @ County Courthouse Room 201]
Missoula Development Authority Promotes, stimulates, develops and advances the general welfare, commerce, economic development and prosperity of Missoula County and its citizens. 3:15 pm -

Open Lands Citizens Advisory Committee Works closely with Rural Initiatives to provide the Commissioners with recommendations to assist rural landowners facing a changing landscape outside the Missoula Urban Area.

Park Board [Missoula County] Provides for the public's parks and recreation needs through the establishment of policies and procedures for the orderly development, maintenance and disposition of park land. 1:30 pm -

Planning Board [Missoula Consolidated] Holds public hearings and provides recommendations to the City & County governing bodies on adoption/amendments to growth policies, zoning and subdivision regulations.  They also hear/make recommendations on zoning/ rezoning requests and major subdivision proposals located in both the City & County. 7:00 pm - 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at @ City Council Chambers, 140 W. Pine Street
Planning & Zoning Commission Two citizens that do not meet on a regular basis. Called upon when necessary to decide on matters concerning Citizen Initiated Zoning Districts (usually during County Commissioner Public Meetings) Varies
Seeley Lake Community Council Acts as a liaison between the citizens of Seeley Lake and the BCC and provides info deemed useful, beneficial and helpful to the BCC in making decisions which affect the Seeley Lake community 6:00 pm -

Seeley Lake Refuse District Board Controls storage, collection and disposal of solid waste and promotes improvement of disposal and/or recycling within the District. 7:00 pm -

Seeley Lake Cemetery District Board Governs and manages the Seeley-Swan Cemetery District. 12:00 noon -

Swan Valley Community Council Acts as a liaison between the citizens of the Swan Valley and the BCC and provides info deemed useful, beneficial and helpful to the BCC in making decisions which affect the Swan Valley community. 7:00 pm -
3rd Tuesday of the month @ Swan Valley Community Hall (unless otherwise advertised)
Tax Appeal Board Hears appeals from county residents concerning property values and property taxes. Frequency of meetings determined by caseload - October through December
[Missoula] Urban Transportation Board Establishes, operates, improves, maintains and administers the transportation district; makes policies for the district and provides oversight of the district for the benefit of the citizens thereof. Meetings held @ 12:00 pm - 4th Thursday of the month @ Mountain Line, 1221 Shakespeare (unless otherwise advertised)
Weed Control Board Oversees the planning, implementing and developing of a coordinated program that includes education, prevention, management and research as described in the district's Noxious Weeds Management Plan. 4:00 pm -
3rd Thursday of the month @ Extension Office Conference Room
West Valley Community Council The Council shall strive to promote the interests and concerns of its citizens in the western portions of Missoula County, including the Frenchtown, Huson, Six Mile, and Nine Mile areas (Precincts 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38).*  The Council shall act as a liaison between the County Commissioners to provide all types of information deemed useful, beneficial and helpful to the Commissioners in making decisions which affect the West Valley community, as well as informing the citizens of issues being considered by the Commissioners which may have an impact on the West Valley.  The Council will provide leadership and support to the community’s efforts to ensure orderly growth and development in the western portion of Missoula County and will serve as a channel of communications with local, county, state and federal government officials and agencies regarding matters of concern to the citizens in the western portion of Missoula County.  *NOTE - Precincts have changed: 34 = Spring Meadows 1 (HD 14); 35 = Frenchtown 2 (HD 100); 36/37/38 = Frenchtown 1 (HD 14). 6:00pm -

Zoning Board of Adjustment Administers provisions of the County Zoning Resolution; hears and decides appeals, variances, and special exceptions to terms in the County Zoning Resolution upon which the Board is required to pass under that resolution. 7:00 pm -
