Missoula Measures - Safety
Why this topic?
The freedom to be active, a sense of well-being, and quality of life are all impacted by whether or not people feel safe in their environment---safe from violence, accidents, or other hazards.
There are many things a person can do to improve their personal safety - wear a seat belt every time they ride in a vehicle, wear a bicycle or motorcycle helmet, wear a life jacket, reduce exposure to environmental pollutants (tobacco smoke, forest fire smoke, radon), never ride with a drinking driver, etc. However, this measures addresses community safety concerns that are generally outside a person's own control.
