HOME and CDBG Calendar


 

Mid-September Potential projects are identified at Community Needs Assessment meeting
Mid-October Letters of intent to apply for CDBG or HOME are due
November Applications for HOME and CDBG are due (last Monday before Thanksgiving)
December Applications are reviewed and ranked by OPG staff
January

4Staff's recommendations are forwarded to City Council and included in City's draft Annual Action Plan; notice is placed in newspaper twice

4Presentation of recommendations are made before City Administration and Finance (A&F) Committee

February

4A&F Committee meets again for further consideration, if needed

4Public hearing is held before City Council (no later than February 13)

4Draft Annual Action Plan is submitted to HUD (no later than February 14)

March Previous program year ends (March 31)
April

4HUD approves Annual Action Plan

4New program year begins (April 1)

April/May

4HUD announces City HOME/CDBG allocations

4Contracts with awardees are prepared and taken to A&F Committee and City Council for approval (no earlier than April 1, but after allocation is announced); once approved, are signed by awardees and Mayor

4OPG prepares environmental review record (ERR) of projects

4HOME/CDBG projects begin once under contract and ERR completed

June 30 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for previous program year is submitted to HUD
July 10, Oct. 10, Jan. 10, and April 10 Quarterly reports are due from grantees
