Property Information System Help
Getting Started
Before you can use this map, your browser may have to be updated to Flash Player, version 10. The Property Information System is a Flash-based system. If you have any difficulty accessing the new system, please contact us by email or by phone using the information found on our contact page.
There are three major aspects of this system:
- The map and map layers
- Property Information (Includes surveying, assessor, and tax data)
- Recording Information (You can view and print recorded documents online)
The Map
At first glance the map looks very similar to Google Maps. It functions much like Google Maps in that you can quickly zoom in using your mouse's scroll wheel. You can also use the Zoom Bar located in the upper, left-hand corner of the map page. For more details on these tools, read the "Navigation Buttons and Zoom Bar" section of the Using the Map page.
If you have zoomed in to an area you wish to print the map, just click on the printer icon in the toolbar, enter a personalized title in the textbox and then click "Print" or "Cancel". For more details, see the "Print Window" section of the Using the Map page.
Property Information
In preparing to use this portion of the system you should have one or more of the following pieces of information ready:
- Address (House Number and Street Name)
- Tax Identification Number (found in your Tax Bill)
- Geocode (A unique identifier for parcels)
Enter one of the above pieces of information into the related tab found on the Property Search Panel. For more details, see the "Property Search Panel" section on the Using the Map page.
Records Search
Similar to the Property Search panel, you can search for recorded documents using several types of information including:
- Tax Identification Number (found in your Tax Bill)
- Geocode (A unique identifier for parcels)
- Book and Page Numbers (Each recorded document is recorded in a book and on a page and these numbers are placed on the recorded document)
After you enter the search information in a text box on the corresponding tab and click on the "Search" button, you will see another panel appear displaying a list of results for that search.
For more details, see the "Records Search Panel" on the Using the Map page.
