Clearwater Resource Council Adopt a Lake Program
The lakes are the center of the Seeley Lake community. Lake Alva, Lake Inez, Seeley Lake, Placid Lake, Big Sky Lake, and Salmon Lake contribute opportunities for recreation, water supply for the community and touristic appeal of the area which is essential for the local economy. In the last several years, concerns have been raised regarding the water quality trends in the lakes. How healthy are the lakes? Can the lakes continue to sustain healthy fisheries? How significant are the water quality concerns? While some studies of the lakes were conducted beginning in the 1970’s, insufficient data were available to inform community decisions and guide the work of watershed groups like Clearwater Resource Council.
